Career
Paul spent his year out at TRADA researching energy conservation in housing development and competed
his professional training at Manchester City Council City Architects in the Energy Conservation Group and
Housing Modifications team. This was followed by 8 years as a senior architect at Manchester based Downs
and Variava before establishing O'Connell East in 1995.
Recent Contract Experience
- Cottonfields, Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury, 17 one and two bed apartments are housed within
the scheme with 24 car spaces at semi basement level. Design and build contract calue £2.5m
- Elliot House, Deansgate conversion of Grade II Listed Building for Bruntwood. Design and Build
contract, £1.5m, completed December 2008.
- Liberty Buildings, 650 bed en-suite student accommodation for Birse Construction. Design and
build contract. Value £17m
- Broad Street, Sheffield, 1300 bed en-suite student accommodation planning application scheme.
Value £22m
- Mirabel Street, 225 apartment scheme, Manchester part within Grade II Listed building. Value
